Yes and No. There were still efforts to actively cheat. The students act as a team against a teacher (this is just a cultural truth), so, cheating and other problems in the classroom can be a sort of arms race. You drop cellphones, they write two test sheets for their friends. You supply paper, they use hand signals. You cut off hands, the school doesn't hire you for another term... :)
